I started KJC Media, LLC in 2023 to support the institutions and leaders I believe in. My clients represent and serve their communities in ways which inspire me to advocate on their behalf.

I started my career at Kent State University with a Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences. I have over 20 years experience in marketing and communications. I’ve served as a communications expert and advisor to public institutions in California and Ohio, and I’ve worked in marketing for private institutions across the country as well as in Bangkok, Thailand. Most recently I have assisted public officials in Ohio with messaging and communication strategies in their bids for elected office.

With my experience living and working in diverse places around the world, and my experience in both the private and public sectors, I bring a unique view to the field of communications. Working in unique and varying cultures has given me the opportunity to understand the needs of an audience, and how different audiences respond to different messages.

I currently reside in northern Ohio. Most of my clients are based in Lorain County with the rest currently in the San Francisco Bay area. I live with my husband, Thuan, and our Rhodesian Ridgeback, Penny, in an area not far from where I grew up. My husband is an incredible cook, mostly working with recipes passed down from his family where he grew in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. We enjoy camping across the Midwest and, when there’s time, travelling internationally.

This website has evolved over time. I started blogging about travel nearly 20 years ago when I first discovered my passion for writing. I also learned I have a strange knack for investigative research and, in time, began writing reports and articles with a view towards journalistic standards. Eventually this led to months-long deep dives into major public incidents such as my ongoing investigation into the start of the Caldor Fire, one of California’s most destructive fires in that state’s history. Today, this website is the home to my communications consultancy and is also the place my readers come to check out my latest blog posts.
